1. 1Username — Shown across the site exactly as you type it (capitalisation preserved); uniqueness is checked case-insensitively.
2. 2Password + strength — A live strength meter rates the password from weak to “Very strong” as you type.
3. 3Live rules — A checklist ticks off each requirement (length, lower/upper/digit) — symbols are an optional bonus.
4. 4Confirm — Confirms a live “Passwords match.” before you can submit.
5. 5Create account — Stays disabled until the policy is met and the passwords match; then we email a verification link.
