Marshall released the 1959 Overdrive as a pedal companion to their iconic 100-watt Super Lead head, aiming to bottle that plexi snarl in a stompbox. Compared to it, the Article 59 Overdrive chases that same bright, harmonically rich British crunch — the tone that defined hard rock from the late '60s onward.
