Compared to the Ace Tone FM-2, this fuzz recreates one of the early Japanese fuzz pedals from the late 1960s — a precursor to the Roland/Boss era that offered a raw, buzzy, primitive fuzz tone with a character all its own. Ace Tone originals are genuinely rare collector's pieces today, making a faithful build the only practical way to experience that vintage Japanese fuzz sound.
