Description

Univox was an American musical instrument brand operated by the Unicord Corporation, launched in the early 1960s after Unicord purchased the Amplifier Corporation of America in Westbury, New York, marketing guitars, amplifiers, and effects units (including the iconic Super-Fuzz and Uni-Vibe). The brand distributed guitars by Matsumoku and effects by Shin-Ei Companion, and was widely known for affordable copies of instruments by Fender, Gibson, and others. Unicord was sold to Korg in 1985, effectively ending the original Univox line, though the name was later revived by Canadian company Jam Industries in 2002.
