Spontaneous Audio Devices is a Nashville, Tennessee-based boutique guitar effects pedal manufacturer founded by Arthur "Midget" Sloatman, a veteran audio technician and designer best known for his decade of work as Frank Zappa's studio technician. The company's flagship product is the Son of Kong, a two-channel EQ/Gain pedal and DI whose circuit traces its roots to the parametric EQ Sloatman originally built into Zappa's stage guitars beginning in 1979.
