Pearl Musical Instrument Company is a Japanese manufacturer founded in 1946 in Tokyo, best known for its drums and percussion instruments. In the early 1980s, the company produced a line of guitar effects pedals under the 'Sound Spice' series name, developed in partnership with KLM, covering chorus, overdrive, flanger, octave, phaser, and other effect types. The effects pedal line was only produced for a brief period and has since been discontinued, though the pedals are now sought-after on the vintage/used market.
