Description
Musitronics Corporation was founded in 1972 by Mike Beigel and Aaron Newman in Rosemont, New Jersey, after a cancelled synthesizer project at Guild Guitar Company. The company became renowned for its Mu-Tron line of effects pedals—most notably the Mu-Tron III envelope filter, widely regarded as the world's first envelope-controlled filter—as well as phasers, octave dividers, and other effects. The original company was sold to ARP Instruments in 1978; Beigel later revived the Mu-Tron brand and continues to produce pedals under the Musitronics Mu-Tron name today.
