Description

Mu-Tron (Musitronics Corporation) was founded in 1972 in Rosemont, New Jersey, by Mike Beigel and Aaron Newman, producing innovative analog effects pedals—most notably the Mu-Tron III envelope filter, the Phasor II, Bi-Phase, and Octave Divider—that became staples of funk, rock, and soul music. The original company was sold to ARP Instruments in the late 1970s and subsequently folded, but founder Mike Beigel revived the brand (first as Mu-FX, then reclaiming the Mu-Tron/Musitronics name around 2017) and continues to produce modern reissues and new designs under the Musitronics Mu-Tron banner today.
