Description
Maxon is the effects pedal brand of Nisshin Onpa Co., Ltd., a Japanese audio electronics manufacturer based in Matsumoto, Japan, operating since the mid-1960s. Originally an OEM producer of guitar pickups and pedals—most famously the Ibanez TS-808 and TS9 Tube Screamers—Nisshin Onpa split from Ibanez in 2002 and has since marketed its designs under the Maxon name directly. The company currently produces approximately 23 effects pedals focused on vintage-style analog effects including overdrives, delays, choruses, and flangers.
