Intersound

Intersound was a US-based audio equipment company best known for its Instrument Voicing Preamp (IVP), a studio-quality rackmounted preamplifier first released in 1978 featuring a six-band EQ and a unique transformer-saturation overdrive channel called "Tube Voice." The company encountered financial difficulties and sold its product line to Electro-Voice/Tapco in 1980; the IVP continued to be manufactured until 1982, after which Intersound was commercially defunct. The IVP later gained cult status through its use by Steve Albini (Big Black, Shellac) and members of the Grateful Dead.
