Human Gear is a boutique Japanese guitar effects pedal manufacturer based in Tokyo, operated by a craftsman known as H. Yagi. The brand specializes exclusively in overdrive and distortion pedals, all given Italian names (e.g., Animato, Vivace, Fine, Passionatto, Essence), and is noted for its high-quality, hand-built, limited-production construction. Despite having no official website and minimal marketing presence, Human Gear has gained a cult following, partly due to use of its Animato pedal by musicians such as Chris Wolstenholme of Muse.
