ENGL Amplification is a German manufacturer of high-end tube guitar amplifiers, cabinets, and effects pedals, founded in 1983 by musician Edmund Engl and electronics designer Horst Langer and headquartered in Tittmoning, Bavaria. The company gained wide recognition after debuting at Musikmesse Frankfurt in 1984 with what is regarded as the world's first programmable guitar amplifier. ENGL is renowned particularly in the rock and metal communities for landmark models such as the Powerball, Fireball, and Savage, and counts artists including Ritchie Blackmore, Steve Morse, and Paul Stanley among its endorsers.
