Description
Death By Audio is a boutique effects pedal company founded in 2002 by Oliver Ackermann, guitarist and vocalist of noise rock band A Place to Bury Strangers, handcrafting extreme effects pedals in New York City. The company is known for pedals such as the Fuzz War, Total Sonic Annihilation, Echo Master, and Evil Filter, utilizing components like medical-grade IC chips, obsolete transistors, and military surplus electronics. Originally based in a legendary Williamsburg, Brooklyn warehouse that also served as a venue and recording studio, Death By Audio relocated its workshop to Queens, NYC after the venue closed in 2014.
