Arbiter Electronics Ltd

Arbiter Electronics Ltd was a British guitar effects manufacturer founded by Ivor Arbiter, based in London, England. The company is best known for designing and producing the Fuzz Face distortion pedal in 1966, whose distinctive round enclosure was inspired by a microphone stand base and was made famous by Jimi Hendrix. Arbiter Electronics merged with Dallas Music Industries in 1968 to form Dallas-Arbiter, and the original Arbiter brand ceased independent operation around that time; the Fuzz Face line was eventually discontinued in 1975 with rights later acquired by Dunlop Manufacturing in 1993.
