Ampeg

Ampeg is an American manufacturer best known for its bass amplifiers, originally founded in 1946 in Linden, New Jersey by Everett Hull and Stanley Michaels as 'Michaels-Hull Electronic Labs.' The name 'Ampeg' derives from Hull's invention of an 'amplified peg' pickup for upright bass, and the company later became renowned for iconic products such as the Portaflex B-15 and the 300-watt SVT bass amplifier. In 2018, Ampeg was acquired by Yamaha Guitar Group and now operates as part of that subsidiary, continuing to produce bass amps, cabinets, and effects pedals.
