1981 Inventions

1981 Inventions is a boutique guitar effects pedal company founded by Matthew Hoopes, guitarist of the band Relient K, and co-run with Laura Hoopes. All pedals are hand-built in Nashville, Tennessee, with flagship products including the DRV distortion pedal (developed in collaboration with Jon Ashley of Bondi Effects) and the LVL boost. The company gained widespread acclaim after the DRV's release in 2019, becoming one of the most celebrated boutique pedals of its era.
