Buffalo FX's Rh-x '76 is a faithful recreation of the RAT distortion circuit as it existed in 1976, before the LM308 op-amp era. Expect a raw, aggressive edge with a wide gain range — from gritty, amp-pushed crunch to full-on wall-of-sound distortion — with a slightly brighter, more open character than later RAT variants.
